Suggestions for Sourcing New Fleet Vehicles

In order to convey the correct image of professionalism, it is important for a companies executives to drive presentable and smart new cars, when a companies executive arrives at a business meeting, the sort of car he or she is driving will actually have a profound effect on the image that is projected regarding your company, and therefore will actually indirectly influence your chances of gaining the contract in question. Smart business owners understand this fact, and the importance of conveying a strong and dependable corporate image.

Ofcourse there are other considerations that you will need to take into mind when you are choosing what make and model of car to order, there is no point in ordering a two seater sports car when you plan to use the vehicle for school runs, shopping trips and taking the family away on weekend breaks. Perhaps you live in a remote are and therefore you require a four by four car to make sure you can get to and from your home when the weather turns bad.

Instead of choosing to purchase their fleet cars outright, many more astute businesses source their vehicles via contract hire car leasing, this means that they don’t have to worry about selling the cars after a couple of years, and that they know exactly what the fleet vehicles will cost them on a monthly basis. Because they get the leased cars replaced every few years, the manufacturers guarantee protects them from having to pay any repair bills whatsoever.

Don’t think for a minute that leasing your car will mean that limitations are imposed regarding what say you have in the cars specification, in fact the opposite is generally true. Most dealerships can only offer one make of car, whereby a leasing firm can provide any make, also most leasing companies will allow you to specify the precise specifications of the vehicle they will source for you. You get to decide everything from engine size and fuel type, right down to what colour stitching you want on your leather seats in some cases.

Contract hire leasing is also available to members of the general public as well as businesses, and is growing in popularity. More and more people are waking up to the fact that purchasing a car outright is not really as wise a move as it first seems. Depreciation is better off avoided, and by leasing instead of buying you can be sure that you always have access to a new and reliable vehicle for a low monthly fee.

The many uses of air curtains

Air curtains are widely used in the UK and in many other countries throughout the world, and they have many different uses. You may not realise exactly what they are, but it is likely you will have encountered an air curtain at some point in your life.

The reason most people are likely to have encountered air curtains is that their most common use is in shop, cafe or restaurant doorways, or in the entrance of another type of commercial building. Fitted with powerful fans, these door air curtains blow heated area down from above an exterior entrance all the way to the floor.

Increasing the comfort of customers entering commercial premises is the main purpose of these air curtain heaters, but they also help to maintain interior temperatures in buildings in which doors have to be kept open for extended periods of time.

The use of air curtains in shop doorways is only the tip of the iceberg, as there are countless other applications for these useful systems. Air curtains can be used in places such as cargo doors, aeroplane hangers and shipping receiving doors, to name but a few examples.

Due to their ability to create invisible barriers across entrances, air curtains are also able to prevent outside air infiltrating into air conditioned spaces. The owner of the building can therefore use an air curtain to cut energy bills, as it will help to reduce the workload of heating or air conditioning systems, as well as preventing heat or cold is prevented from entering or escaping. In a lot of cases, an air curtain can pay for itself in as short a time as two years.

As well as helping to maintain two or more spaces at different temperatures, air curtains are able to prevent flying insects from entering. The way they do this is through forceful turbulence, which is why the fans used on air curtains have to be very powerful indeed.

If you have even the slightest interest in motor sports at all, you will surely have heard of stock car racing. The term ‘stock car’ simply refers to the fact that the cars used to be stock items at local garages. Therefore, stock car racing includes NASCAR and dirt track racing. These are the most widespread forms of stock car racing, but there is another that is far less well-known. It is called Formula D or Formula Drifting

Many people imagine that because Formula D uses similar cars to the other stock car races, then Formula D is a form of racing cars too. Even though these sports do have certain things in common besides the kinds of cars they use, they are in fact quite different. however, they do all come under the heading of motor sports or auto sports.

In most motor sports, the car’s ability to go fast and the driver’s talent to encourage it to go fast are what are the most important considerations in winning a race. However, in Formula D or Formula Drifting, it is the driver’s aptitude to control a skid or a drift which is the most important, although the cars can be really awesome beasts as well at between 200 and 600 bhp.

Drifting and stock car racing normally take place at different types of locations too. Stock car racing almost always takes place in a stadium, racing around a track. Formula Drifting normally takes place on asphalt, but sometimes on dirt as well, but it can also take place in a parking lot or a desolate street. If Drifters use a stadium they are unlikely to use the full length of the track.

The winning driver in standard stock car races is the one who drives over the finishing line in the quickest time. This is not the same in Formula D as there is no finishing line as such. Drifters are judged on their ability to drift or skid and their ability to manage that drift. They have to do it at speed and remain on the ‘track’ as well.

This means that a drifter has to have a very high level of control over his vehicle, just like any other racing driver, but the set of skills is slightly different. All drivers have to be able to control the occasional skid, particularly the accidental ones, but drifters have to be able to do it with style and panache.

The only drawback from the spectators’ point of view is that Formula Drifting meetings are fairly uncommon when compared with stock car competitions. This is a shame because Formula Drifting is an exciting motor sport to watch and you can see world professional champions in action for a fraction of the cost of watching stock car racing.
